What is a
virtual run?
A virtual run is a race that you can complete at your own pace and time.
Virtual running works exactly the same as any other type of running but the difference is that the entered race can be run at any location, either outside or inside on a treadmill.
All you have to do is register for a race and provide evidence that you have done it. The evidence can be a screenshot of your running app, a photo of the treadmill screen etc. Do check out specific instructions of the event you join for more information.
Virtual races are a great way to stay fit and active all year round, run for good causes and get awesome medals and other entitlements for your participation!

More
information
HCA Hospice Care (HCA) is organising The Vertical Challenge 2020, a virtual vertical marathon, to raise $300,000 to fund 1,000 home visits for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Sign up as an individual, family, corporate or group of friends and attempt the challenge at your convenience between 1 October 2020 to 30 November 2020. Suitable locations include HDB and office staircases, hills and ridges.
Different categories are available – both competitive and non-competitive – with the simplest challenge at 50m vertical gain (about 18 floors) to the most challenging at 2020m vertical gain (about 722 floors or climbing Bukit Timah Hill 12.3 times).
Registration for the event is free but participants will be required to raise a minimum sum to receive finisher entitlements which include a finisher t-shirt, medal and e-certificate among other goodies.
Donations received will help to fund home visits by HCA Hospice Care, to terminally ill patients. All visits are provided at no charge to patients and HCA relies heavily on public donations and government subsidies to achieve this.
