The Western Sydney Summer Orienteering Series event on Sunday, 15 October 2017 uses the Bella Vista Extended map.
Orienteering mixes exercise with a simple navigational challenge. If you can read a street directory you can do it! It's a great way to explore a suburb. You have 45 minutes to get to as many of the 30 checkpoints (called controls) as you can, using the specially prepared map of the area. The checkpoints are worth different amounts, and you plan your route before starting.
You can go solo, with a buddy or in a small group (friends or family members). Beginners are most welcome and will receive basic instruction.
