The Sydney Summer Twilight Series event in Prestons on Thursday, 14 December 2017 is one of a number of events in the Sydney Metro area over the summer months.
The course is a flat 2.5km out and back, using the early stages of the Cities Marathon course. The 10km course is out and back twice.
It is organised informally by volunteer hosts, who facilitate the event on their preferred date and venue. Races are held in the twilight so that runners can race after work. All are welcome.
The philosophy of the series is: "First and foremost, all ability levels are welcome. However long it takes you to complete the distance is the time it takes you to complete the distance. Anyone who believes that there should be a time limit criteria has got the wrong series. Whether you hop skip walk fart hobble run to get the distance is irrelevant, turning up and having a go is what it is all about. If you are worried about this being elitist, you couldn't be further off the mark."
