  More about this event
The idea behind The Straits Times launching the inaugural ST Run in the Park last year was to bring our readers together in a celebration of sport. And in keeping with that spirit, we thought what better place than the Sports Hub to host this year’s event.

More than 12,000 participants took part in the first ST Run along Punggol Waterway’s scenic park connectors. The overwhelming response to last year’s event is a big reason why we’re going bigger and better this year.

Apart from giving participants the unique opportunity of being the first to complete a run under the new National Stadium’s iconic dome, we’ve introduced a new half-marathon category that will better complement the 10km and 5km runs. As with last year, runners can also look forward to an attractive goodie bag, complete with a New Balance race vest/T-shirt and a special New Balance commemorative T-Shirt. Many prizes from our kind presenting sponsor Panasonic are also up for grabs.

We are truly excited to be able to bring the ST Run at the Hub to you. We think being able to complete a run in the National Stadium, cheered on by thousands, is an experience many will not forget.

  1. Did the 21k. Usual issue at the start, despite the organisers having 4 or 5 pace based pens, the sub 2 hour pen was full of people who trotted off at a 3 hour plus pace (this is a global problem – I just dont understand the mentality of starting in the wrong place), so a busy first 2 kms, then cleared ok. Maintained planned pace to about 12-13k, the route pretty much the same as the AHM but starting further round. Entering the awful stretch through GBB East and Tanjong Rhu I started to fade slightly, only by 15s/km, but noticeable. I battled through to the final 2km stretch around the stadium. This was ok, but quite a few twists and turns and out and back sections, which I dont really like. Final dash into the stadium was great, nice crowd on the tunnel entrance, then 150m or so (as predicted in the forum!) sprint on the track to the finish. It was pretty empty when I finished, so quick 100plus and t shirt collection and a short sit down in the AirCon to catch up with a few buddies and then I was outta there and on my way home.
Decent race, well organised, but Singapore needs a new ‘main’ race route – I am completely fed up with Marina Bay/Tanjong Rhu!!!

  2. I was not feeling well this morning and also cannot locate my running tee number tag and therefore did run the 5km event this morning
can i know if i can still collect my goodies bag and my commerative tee
    thanks

  3. Enjoyed doing the 21k. Well organized n great to end inside the cooled stadium. Only issue : till now I have not found the web address link to read my (&everybody else’s) race timing. Can anyone here help ?

  4. good run and nice finish at the stadium that is so much cooler. ok i admit i signed up partially for the ‘goodie bag’ and i really appreciate the SEA aquarium ticket given at last year’s ST run.

but this year…for the price i am paying for the run, i wanna complain that some sponsors are just ridiculous, like giving worthless stuff while gaining publicity on their sponsorship.

    1) just found out the alive museum tickets is almost useless with it valid on weekdays only and end just before the sch holidays on 14 Nov.

    2) i won some airasia ticket to xi’an, but guess what? is only one-way and travelling period before 12 Oct 2014. -.-
