Adidas Introduces SWITCH FWD – Fuelled By Forward Motion Technology, Designed For A Smooth Running Experience

• SWITCH FWD uses voids in its EVA midsole to transfer gravity into forward motion for a fresh running experience for athletes of all levels.

Singapore, 27 Jul 2023 — Today, adidas reveals SWITCH FWD, as it continues its commitment to unwavering innovation in the pursuit of only the best for all runners.

The shoe’s innovative EVA compound midsole, with intricately designed voids, converts gravity into forward motion, offering a unique and smooth-running experience for runners of all levels.

The SWITCH FWD features a stable and cushioned transition through the forefoot and midfoot, thanks to its soft EVA compound midsole and TPU plate working together. Additionally, runners will enjoy enhanced grip in all weather conditions with the lightgravity Continental™ outsole and breathability from the lightgravity engineered mesh upper, featuring strategically placed windows on the forefoot and midfoot.

The shoe is available in two colourways: white and silver-violet with lucid lemon detailing for women, and white and wonder blue for men with lucid lemon accents.

Both events showcase the revolutionary running shoes that converts runners’ gravity into forward motion, allowing them to experience cuttingedge technology and unleash their creativity by turning their runs into imaginative GPS map art.

adidas Runners SG #SWITCHFWD Run: Embrace the Evolution of Running

 The adidas Runners SG #SWITCHFWD Run is set to captivate Singapore this July.

Taking place on Saturday, 29th July, from 7 am to 9.30 am, this event offers a firsthand look into the future of urban running. Witness the advanced midsole platform in action, effortlessly propelling runners forward with each stride for a smoother and more dynamic experience.

During the adidas Runners SG #SWITCHFWD Run, participants will have the opportunity to create unique GPS art. Using the adidas Running app, runners will craft their own unique artwork while on the run, celebrating both athleticism and creativity. Members of the winning team will each win a full running outfit from the latest adidas running collection each, worth SGD $347.

adidas SWITCH FWD Inter-Varsity Challenge 2023

 The adidas SWITCH FWD Inter-varsity Challenge (IVC) 2023 is a thrilling virtual challenge that will take place from 7th August to 11th August. This competition will bring together four prestigious universities in Singapore – National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) – for a friendly showdown that celebrates creativity, sport, and teamwork.

Each participating university will be required to submit two teams, with each team consisting of five members. The challenge will be conducted using the adidas Running app, where teams will create the most imaginative GPS map art representing “forward motion” during their runs. This creative and innovative approach aims to inspire Gen Z audiences to showcase their talent and enthusiasm for sports while enjoying the camaraderie of working out together.

The winning team of the adidas SWITCH FWD IVC 2023 will be rewarded with SGD $500 each in adidas store credits for the year, with the second runner-up receiving SGD $200 each. These credits can be utilised to equip their varsity teams with items and equipment, further supporting their pursuit of athletic excellence.
