ASICS SportStyle Announces The GEL-1130™ With The Theme: Your Crew Is Your Rock

Drawing upon their past to map out the future – ASICS SportStyle announce the GEL-1130™, a remixed version of a classic silhouette that is built on the foundation of ASICS performance and innovation with a fashion-forward design.

Part of the GEL-1000 lineage, the model took its design inspiration from the GEL-KAYANO 14™ sneaker as well as the footwear resurgence seen in the late 2000’s. The focus of the GEL-1000™ series was to expand on the innovative designs ASICS was already creating. The GEL-1130™ features ASICS’ GEL™ technology and the TRUSSTIC™ unit in the tooling, offering improved comfort and support.

This new model has fused that history with the modern, streetwear aesthetic which allows the sneaker to toe the line between performance wear and leisure.

The global campaign theme, “Your Crew is Your Rock”, aims to highlight the shoe’s versatility, by spending time with two very diverse crews and allowing them to showcase how the GEL-1130™ fits their groups’ unique style.

On Lunch Break (@onlunchbreak) is a multidisciplinary group of creatives based in NYC who are dedicated to documenting and creating visuals of the community around them, while Sabukaru (@sabukaru.online) is a digital publication based in Tokyo that focuses on highlighting Japan’s unique subcultures.

Alongside the OG inspired colours, the second colourway is a Women’s style in champagne and cream tones, giving the model a luxurious feel.
