The annual Alpine Lodge Loop the Lake is an approximately 25km off-road anticlockwise circuit of Lake Rotoiti, in the Nelson Lakes National Park, near Nelson and Blenheim. Entry is strictly limited to 400 entrants.

The course is an off-road trail run and there is a required equipment checklist: a polypropylene or equivalent top, hat and gloves; windproof parka/jacket; whistle; and a survival blanket. If you do not have these items you will not be allowed to race. See the event website (linked to below) for more details.
