  More about this event
The Raetihi Gutbuster is a fun way to experience the scenery and history of the Raetihi-Pipiriki road that lies between the Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks. There are 18 km running and bike ride events, a 25 km downhill ride and a 50 km ride.

This event starts from the Waimarino Museum and follows an out and back course along the historic Raetihi-Pipiriki road. There's a 5 km downhill section from the start followed by a steep 2 km climb to the Waipuna turnoff; then turn around and run back again.

Great Spot Prizes include Mt Ruapehu Season Passes, and jet boat trips to the Bridge to Nowhere. The start and finish area at the Museum has a market day atmosphere with cake stalls, BBQs and coffee vendors.
