The Whangamata Run/Walk Festival has Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km events. It starts and ends at the Whangamata Area School, Port Road, Whangamata.
The 5 K is a flat course around the town streets. The 10 K is partly around town and also out on SH25. The Half Marathon starts with a town circuit, then out on to SH25 with a turn around just south (i.e. Whangamata side) of Julian Road and back to town again. All courses start and end at the Whangamata Area School on Port Road.
