What is a
virtual run?
A virtual run is a race that you can complete at your own pace and time.
Virtual running works exactly the same as any other type of running but the difference is that the entered race can be run at any location, either outside or inside on a treadmill.
All you have to do is register for a race and provide evidence that you have done it. The evidence can be a screenshot of your running app, a photo of the treadmill screen etc. Do check out specific instructions of the event you join for more information.
Virtual races are a great way to stay fit and active all year round, run for good causes and get awesome medals and other entitlements for your participation!

Who are Hands of Hope?
Hands of Hope, UCSI University is a long-term voluntary project established in January 2014 with a mission to sow seeds of change towards refugee communities through education. Since then, Hands of Hope has started sending student volunteers to 6 refugee learning centres to provide basic education to refugee students on a weekly basis, mainly in academic subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. There are also several events and projects under Hands of Hope to raise awareness, generate funds and create systems for the refugee communities to be self-sustainable.
What is the Sponsor-A-Child Project?
Sponsor-A-Child Project is a project kick-started by Hands of Hope back in 2014 when an increasing dropout rate was noticed among children from the refugee communities due to financial struggles. This project was established to sponsor refugee children with financial difficulties to get back to school. Funds raised for the project will be used to sponsor the annual school fee of the selected students from several refugee learning centres.
For your information, we are currently having a fundraising campaign namely "Sowing Seeds of Change Fundraising Campaign 2021" to raise fund for Sponsor-A-Child Project. Besides crowdfunding, the other events to be held under this campaign includes a Forum with the topic of "Why Education for Refugees Matters?", Charity Virtual Run and Talent Contest. All proceeds from these events will be channelled into SAC Project. We are aiming to sponsor 1-year education fees for 15 refugee students through this campaign.
